Plumbing, Bushes, Etc . . .

Piping for drains is finished. Plumbers will start on water lines on Monday. 

Garage floor & Rob's grill patio get poured on Tuesday.

Heating should be installed sometime next week.

Digging holes for the sona tubes for supports for the front deck . . .

 

How weird does my house look with the bushes pulled out?!

Plumbing Started . . .

Plumbers were cutting holes & running pipes today (is it weird to anyone else that the pipes are running UP into the ceiling & then down?), and my tub has been moved into place.

Progress . . .

Holes for sona tubes for decks/stair landings are being dug, as well as for Rob's grill patio. Then we need to get concrete guy to pour the garage floor, the grill patio & fill the sona tubes.

Plumber is starting tomorrow and maybe HVAC guy at end of the week.

We have doors (well sort of) . . .

House is wrapped and mudroom doors are in, minus the hardware (figure they'll only get dirty & stuff with people working & coming in & out). Plan for next stages are: garage floor, "patio" for Rob's grills, siding, garage door and plumber starts roughing out pipes.

Addition or Ark?

It's been raining for 3 days straight & it's been a downpour - cold & windy. Thankfully, we're not getting all the flooding a lot of others are, but the windows on the side of the addition are leaking and we do have some water in the basement, but not too bad.

This is the first time, since I bought the house (1997), that I've seen the canal actually look like a canal:

Right when I took this picture, the wind blew in & blew through a pile of sawdust!

 

More walls!

Front & final outside wall went up at 8:30 am!

They're putting up the second floor interior walls, but since I don't have stairs yet, I can't take pictures yet. Robby's bedroom window has to be boarded up first, then the stringers can go in, so maybe later this afternoon, I'll be able to see what's going on upstairs.

So Rob climbed the ladder and took a few shots - I'll get up there later & take more.

The roof is done! Roofers will come Thursday to put on the shingles.

Second Floor

Despite yesterday's set back, 2 guys were able to work today, so the floor is done & the walls are going up! (1:30 pm)

Far left window is the office. The other 2 windows will be on either side of the bed in the master bedroom.

Back wall is up - Left window is the hallway at the top of the stairs, right window is the office / "Julie's room". (2:30 pm)
